MICHAEL KOSARIN was the original music director/arranger for the original production of The Secret Garden, 25 years ago. Has worked steadily on Broadway since 1982, when he worked on the Broadway show Nine, just after graduating from Duke University. Other Broadway shows include A Chorus Line, Grand Hotel, Mayor, Triumph of Love, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Little Shop of Horrors, Leap of Faith, Sister Act, Newsies, and Aladdin, where he currently conducts. In 1993, he began working with composer Alan Menken, and has music directed, produced, and arranged nearly every film, show, and recording with him since then. Current projects include The Hunchback of Notre Dame (album recently released), the TV show Galavant, for which Mr. Kosarin arranges and produces the songs, and the new live-action film of Beauty and the Beast, to be released March 2017.  Extensive film work includes Pocahontas, Hercules, Enchanted, Tangled, and Captain America. He is a three-time Grammy-nominated recording artist and producer, and work features long-time collaborations with Carly Simon (gold album and HBO special "My Romance"), Barbara Cook ("Tribute", recorded live at Café Carlyle), and Jane Krakowski (“Live at Feinsteins”). He won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction for his work on "A Christmas Carol" and provided music direction and underscore as well for "Once Upon a Mattress" and "The Music Man" (another Emmy nomination).  An in-demand composer for children’s television, his work has been featured on “Sesame Street”, “Wonder Pets”, and the BBC’s “Third and Bird”. He lives in New York City with his wife and son.
